All Gee-Gee Brown Tournament – First Team
The Best of the rest
1)
County Line – Semaj Inge –
The one time Temple Owl was
the one consistent talent on a very talented Country Line team. Semaj, who has played professionally over
seas, scored the most points in total in the tournament and was consistently
one of the top players in every game played.
His base line windmill slam-dunk was spectacular. Semaj scored a record total tournament high
87 points for the tournament breaking last years first team member Chris Martin
of the Blazin Bums 82 points. Semaj also had the 2nd highest total
of rejections and the 2nd highest total of steals for the entire
tournament
2)
Team A-Game – Justin Sears –
Arguably the best
performance by a teen-ager in the Gee-Gee Brown tournament. Sears’s stat line across the board was
impressive and even more impressive since it was against former Division 1 and
professional players. Sears had a
tournament high 9 rejections that is only 2nd all time to Adrian Gilliard from
Porterplus Realty record 11 rejections in the 2011 Gee Gee Brown
Tournament. Justin also had the 2nd
most rebounds, 4th most steals and 4th most total points
for the entire tournament.
3)
Bada Bing – Mike Gordon –
Mike was last year’s most
efficient player in the Gee-Gee Brown Tournament. The one-time first team All-State player gave an outstanding
performance against Country Line in defeat.
Mike broke his own Gee Gee Brown Tournament record of steals, scored the
2nd highest amount of points for the entire Tournament, and had the
4th highest total in assists.
4)
County Line – Antoine Morgano –
Antoine Morgano did all
the dirty interior work for County Line.
A former Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League player of the
week showed why he was deserving of that award in the Gee-Gee Brown Tournament.
Antoine had the 3rd highest amount of field goals made in the paint,
8th most points scored, shot
66% from the field and had the 5th most rebounds of the tournament.
5)
Rush Hour – Rodney Tucker –
Arguably the most improve
player of the Gee-Gee Brown Tournament from last year to this year. Tucker was the MVP of Rush Hour. His cramping injury in overtime was the
difference for County Line to win the tournament. Rodney dominated the boards and out rebounded everyone in the tournament
by 12 rebounds. Tucker was able to
break a Gee Gee Brown Tournament record for total rebounds, which was set last
year by Capital City All-Stars #7 Robert 34 rebounds. Tucker grabbed a record 37 rebounds. Tucker also had the 5th most rejections and the 3rd
highest free throw percentage in the tournament.
