Battle of the Back Court – 4th Match Up Round 2
3Z PleaZe – Sekou Harris
3Z PleaZe – Allen Brown
South Side – Antoine Patterson
With elimination facing the loser, it was expected to see a
heated game. It was also expected to
see Antoine Patterson pick up his game against the younger backcourt of Sekou
Harris and Allen Brown. Brown’s
defensive efforts seem to have ensured that Patterson would not have one of his
lights out performances. With Brown’s
focus on defense, this left it up to Harris to carry the floor leadership. Harris was near perfect from the floor
although he took minimal shots. Sekou’s
balance effort ended Antoine Patterson’s and South Side visit to the Gee Gee
Brown Tournament.
Edge goes to Sekou Harris as Allen Brown’s defensive effort
slowing down the explosive Antoine Patterson gave Brown runner up in this
Battle of the Back Court match up.
Game 4 advantage goes to Sekou Harris
75% shooting from the foul line
100% shooting from the field
3 rebounds
1 steal

Battle of the Back Court – 5th Match Up Round 2
Bada Bing – Mike Gordon
Bada Bing – Derrick Gordon
Team A-Game – Mike Price
Team A-Game – Anthony Baskerville
Team A-Game – Tyrone Johnson
One of the most intriguing Battle of the Back Court match
ups was in the game with defending champions Bada Bing and Team A-Game. Between the 2 teams there were three 1st
Team All-Staters and three Union County Player's of Year. Mike Gordon seem to let the fan’s know that
he may be one of the elder states men but was not ready to hand over the reign
to his younger brother or the younger guards from Team-A. Derrick Gordon had a solid game again but
Mike Gordon did him better by controlling the game on all ends of the floor. Both
Gordon’s would out distance the Team A-Game guards and hand them a lop-sided
loss.
Game 5 advantage goes to Mike Gordon
Game high 18-points
63% shooting from the floor
40% shooting from behind the arc
7 rebounds
7 steals
3 assists
Battle of the Back Court – 6th Match Up Round 2
Rush Hour – Andre Dabney
Rush Hour – Anthony Nelson
No head to head match up in this contest but Rush Hour had
to contend with the very talented Country Line out of Philly. Anthony Nelson played a solid game dropping
off 3 assists and shooting 84% from the free throw line to get into double
digits in scoring.
But it was the play of Andre Dabney that electrified the crowd. Dabney used his elusive quickness to outplay
the talented backcourt of Country Line who featured several Division 1/Semi Pro
players. Dabney connected on a deep
corner trey over a 6’8” defender to complete an amazing come back and help Rush
Hour win the game.
Game 6 advantage goes to Andre Dabney
Game high 22-points
83% shooting from the floor
67% shooting from behind the arc
3 rebounds
2 assists****************************************
