Battle of the Back Court – 12th Match Up Round 5 (Final Round)
Rush Hour – Andre Dabney
Rush Hour – Anthony Nelson
Rush Hour – Jerrel Thompson
Rush Hour’s Andre Dabney needed a similar great performance
as he did against Country Line in the 1st game to have a chance of
being crowned King of the Back Court.
Anthony Nelson would have to put on a game of the ages and Jerrel
arrived too late to have a chance although his previous performance helped Rush
Hour hand Bada Bing their first defeat in 2 years at the Gee-Gee Brown
Tournament.
This was a great game.
Country Line was giving it to Rush Hour but the tri factor back court of
Nelson, Dabney and Thompson brought their team from sure defeat to send the
game into overtime. Country Line
learned from last year as their bench was too deep and fresh. Country Line would pull away in overtime to
avenge their only defeat in the Gee-Gee Brown Tournament and walk away with the
crown.
All three guards gave a solid performance. Nelson would be the team’s high scorer with
16 points. Jerrel gave a 4:1 assist to
turnover ratio but Dabney gave a complete balance effort and the elder
statesmen got the edge in the final match up of the Battle of the Back Court.
Game 12 advantage goes to Andre Dabney
50% shooting from the floor
50% shooting from behind the arc
3 assists
3 rebounds
2 steals
3:0 assist to turnover ratio
