Plainfield vs Steinart


A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs. Steinart Game

The Cardinal Fanatic will put on his analytical beak and look at every statistical category!


Plainfield bounced back from their lost to Roselle Catholic by defeating Steinart of Hamilton.  Plainfield controlled every statistical category.


Free Throw Shooting – Plainfield +6
Plainfield scored 9 points from the free bee-line while Steinart scored 3.

3-point Shooting – Plainfield +12
Plainfield connected on 6 three pointers compared to Steinart’s 2.

Points in the Paint – Plainfield +20
This was a decisive statistical advantage for Plainfield.  Plainfield connected on 18 field goals below the arc/in the paint compared to 8 by Steinart.  Steinart’s Nick Labelle connected on a game high tying 4 conversions consisting of 50% of Steinart’s points in the paint.

Block Shots – Plainfield +5
Plainfield rejected 7 shot attempts while Steinart rejected 2 shot attempts.

Assists – Plainfield +5
Plainfield dished out 9 assists compared to Steinart’s 4.  Steinart’s Shane Plunkett dished out a game high 3 assists

Rebounds – Plainfield +22
This was another decisive statistical category for Plainfield as they were able to double up their opponent in rebounds.  Plainfield grabbed 44 rebounds while Steinart grabbed 22 rebounds.  Denzel Christian had a game high 13 rebounds. 

Steals – Plainfield +8
Plainfield picked up 13 steals compared to the Steinart 5. 

Turnovers – Plainfield +9
Plainfield took better care of the ball by committing a season low 9 turnovers compared to the Steinart’s 18.

 
The Cardinal Fanatic Efficiency Players of the game

 
1)      Plainfield – Sophomore Ahmad Baker 6’8” – {ER-16}
Baker was 50% from floor and 75% from the free throw line to score a game high tying 11 points (Plainfield’s Jerome Allen-Jordan also with 11 points).  Baker also grabbed 4 boards, picked up a steal, dropped off a team high 2 assists (Jordan Sears also with 2 assists) and rejected a game high 3 shot attempts.  Ahmad was efficient with the ball, as he did not commit any turnovers for the entire game.

2)      Plainfield – Senior Jerome Allen-Jordan 5’11” – {ER-14}
Jerome played only 8 minutes but made the most of it.  Jerome shot perfect from the field which included a 3 for 3 from beyond the arc to score a game high tying 11 points.  Rome also grabbed a rebound and picked up 2 steals and did not commit a turnover.

3)      Plainfield – Senior Wade Brown 6’0” – {ER-13}
Wade was perfect from the field and perfect from the free-throw line.  WB doesn’t only fill up your office supply cabinet but Wade Brown can fill up every statistical category.  Brown grabbed 3 rebounds, picked up a game high 5 steals, dropped off an assist and rejected 1 shot.  Wade was very efficient with the ball as he committed only 1 turnover for the entire game.

4)      Plainfield – Senior Shaquille Vernon 6’4” – {ER-13}
One of the Cardinal-Fanatic favorites, the athletic Vernon suffered a serious injury early last year.  In his first game in nearly a year, Shaq responded with a 3 of 3 shooting from the field, grabbed 5 rebounds and picked up a steal.  Vernon only committed 1 turnover.

5)      Plainfield – Senior Denzel Johnson 6’1” – {ER-10}
Johnson shot 57% from below the arc and was perfect from the foul line.  Johnson also grabbed 4 boards, picked up a steal and dished out an assist.  Johnson was efficient with the ball from his guard position by committing only 1 turnover for the entire game.    

 

The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
