Where did the Cardinals win this game?

3-Pointers – The Cardinals shot a hot 64% from behind the
arc. This gave the Cardinals a 15-point
advantage in the 3-point shooting category.
Taylor Plummer added to the Cardinals stat line by connecting on his
only 3-point attempt.

Foul Shooting – The Cardinals connected on 24 free throws
compared to Linden 8 free throw conversions.
This gave the Cardinals a 16-point advantage in this statistical area.

Rebounding – Although Linden featured two 6’9 players in the
paint, the Cardinals won the rebound battle by 6 boards. In his first game, coming off an off-season
injury, Denzel Christian (last years starting center) grabbed 2 rebounds in
minimal minutes of play.

Team Defense – Ahmid Williams was the catalyst as the
Cardinals picked up 11 steals and rejected 5 shots. While Williams was applying
the pressure, Plummer was picking the pockets with 3 steals.

1) Plainfield – Senior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-28}
Dr. Zone Buster BKA Sekou “Trey Swish” put on a shooting
exhibition that has not been seen in recent times by a Cardinal. Sekou shot a Planet Mercury 75% from behind
the arc to score a game and career high 28 points. What made this even more impressive, 90% of his shots were
contested. Sekou also grabbed 4
rebounds and dropped off 2 assists.
Sekou also reconfirmed his membership to the “Block Party Crew” with 1
rejection.
2) Linden – Senior Shakir Phelps 6’5” {ER-26}
Shakir was matching Sekou with his scoring basket for
basket. Shakir shot 62% from the floor
to score a team high 26 points. Shakir
also grabbed 6 rebounds and picked up 2 steals. Phelps had a very Efficient night as he did not commit a turnover
for the entire game.
3) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-24}
Sears scored 10 points on 50% shooting from the floor and
100% shooting from the free throw line.
Justin grabbed a game high tying 7 rebounds (Linden’s Raekwon Walker
also with 7 rebounds), picked up 2 steals, dropped off a game high tying 3
assists (Linden’s Marcus Fleming also with 3 assists) and rejected a game high
4 shots. Justin’s “Bill Russell” block
shot amazed the crowd. The 6’8” Yale
bound Sears completed a very Efficient night by comprising a 3-1 assist to
turnover ratio.
4) Plainfield – Senior Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan 6’6” {ER-21}
Dr. Dunkadelic was playing my song “Flash Light” ala the
photographers were flashing their camera lights to catch his repertoire of
dunks. Mr. Mustard high percentage shot
attempts (4 dunks for the game) helped him score a team high 71% from the
floor. Dii’Jon scored 20 points for the
game, grabbed 6 rebounds and picked up a game high 3 steals (Taylor Plummer
also with 3 steals).
5) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-16}
Jahmal shot 50% from the field below the arc and shot 75%
from the free throw line. Lane had a very Efficient night as he grabbed 4
rebounds, picked up 2 steals, dropped off 2 assists and committed no turnovers
for the entire game.
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
