A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs Elizabeth Game


Where did the Cardinals win this game?

        Taking Care of the Rock/Defense (Advantage Elizabeth) – Elizabeth committed 7 turnovers while the Cardinals committed 18.  This gave the Minutemen 11 extra possessions and a possible 22 extra points.  If Elizabeth took advantage of this statistic, the outcome could have been different.

        Rejections (Advantage Plainfield) – The Cardinals basically erased their mishandling of the rock by rejecting 12 shots or a potential 24 points.  Elizabeth rejected 2 shots.  Denzel Christian helped the Cardinals in the rejection category by having 2 block shots.

        Sharing the Ball (Even) – Both teams dished out 6 assists

        Rebounds (Advantage Plainfield) – This was a big advantage.  Plainfield out rebounded the Minutemen by 30 rebounds.  The Cardinals grabbed a season high 58 rebounds.  Jahmal Lane contributed from his guard position by grabbing 7 rebounds.

        2 points made (Advantage Plainfield) – Plainfield outscored Elizabeth by 18 points below the arc. Jahmal Lane converted 7 field goals below the arc.

        3-Pointers made (Advantage Elizabeth) – Elizabeth erased the Cardinals point advantage below the arc by outscoring the Cardinals from above the arc by 18 points thus making the game a dead heat.

        Free Throws (Advantage Plainfield) – The Cardinals shot a whopping 54 free throws and was able to convert on 20 more free throws than Elizabeth.  Thus our point differential of the game. Sekou Harris shot 75% from the free throw line to score 9 points from the charity line.


Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-40}
Justin reached the rear Efficiency Rating plateau of the 40+ club where only one other high school baller has reached (Kyrie Irving – St. Patrick/Duke/Cleveland Cavaliers).  Justin shot 56% from the floor and connected on 11 free throws to score a game high 31 points.  Sears reaffirmed his Dr. Double Double credentials by grabbing a game high 18 rebounds.  Justin also picked up 1 steal and rejected 3 shots.
 
2) Elizabeth – Junior Isaiah Johnson 6’3” {ER-22}
Isaiah was on fire!  Johnson shot 67% below the arc, 60% from beyond the arc and 100% from the free throw line to score a team high 21 points.  Johnson also grabbed 3 rebounds and only committed 1 turnover for the entire game.

3) Elizabeth – Senior Isaiah Davis 6’4” {ER-21}
Isaiah Davis shot 67% from down town and 80% from the free throw line to score 16 points of which 10 points was scored in the final 8 minutes of the game.  Davis also grabbed a team high 7 rebounds, picked up a team high 5 steals and rejected 1 shot.  Davis only committed 2 turnovers for the entire game.

4) Plainfield – Senior Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan 6’6” {ER-19}
Dii’Jon took the ball to the rack with reckless abandon as he scored 10 of his 14 points from the free throw line.  Mr. Mustard also completed a double double performance by grabbing 14 rebounds.  Allen-Jordan also picked up 2 steals, dropped 1 assist and rejected a game high 6 shots.  Dii’Jon completed an Efficient night by committing only 2 turnovers.

5) Plainfield – Senior Taylor Plummer 6’5” {ER-15}
Taylor shot 67% from the floor and 75% from the free throw line to display an Efficient shooting performance.  Taylor grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and rejected 1 shot attempt. 

 

 
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
