Where did the Cardinals win this game?

Points in the Paint – The Cardinals had a slight height
advantage and it showed in this statistical category. The shooting percentage below the arc was below their average as
the Cardinals shot a cool 43% from the floor.
Although their shooting woe continues, the Cardinals were able to have a
14-point advantage over Henry Wise. Taylor
Plummer and Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan combined for 8 points in the paint to help the
Cardinals gain the edge for points in the paint.

Free Throws – Again, the shooting woe continues as the
Cardinals shot a poor 65% from the free throw line. Henry Wise did even worse as they shot a dismal 25%. With this big difference in accuracy the
Cardinals were able to connect on 8 more free throws than Henry Wise. Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan shot 75% from the free
throw line to help the Cardinals overcome their inaccuracy from the charity
stripe.

Rebounding – This was the deciding factor. Henry Wise shot 33% from the field and was
limited to 1 possession each time down court.
The Cardinals grabbed 26 defensive rebounds. Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan 4
defensive rebounds helped the Cardinals in this category. The Cardinals gave
themselves extra possessions by grabbing 10 offensive rebounds. Denzel Christian who is still working
himself into game shape helped out on the offensive boards. The Cardinals were able to out rebound Henry
Wise 36 to 27.

Defensive Effort – The Cardinals turned away a total of 16 Henry
Wise offensive possessions. The
Cardinals garnished 8 possessions on forced turnovers. Taylor Plummer 2 steals helped the Cardinals
gain the advantage in this category.

1) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-23}
Justin shot 56% from the field to be one of 3 Cardinals to
score in double figures. Sears is back
to his double double ways by grabbing a game high 12 rebounds of which 6 were
offensive. Sears also had 2 assists, 1
steal and a game high 3 rejections.
Sears only committed one turnover for the entire game.
2) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-22}
Mr. Lane shot 46% from below the arc, 50% from beyond the
arc, and was 100% from the foul line to score a game high 15 points. Lane grabbed 9 rebounds just missing a
double double effort. The original “Block Party Crew” member rejected 2
shots. Lane completed a very Efficient
night by not committing any turnovers for the entire game.
3) Plainfield – Senior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-16}
Harris shot 4-4 from the free throw line and connected on a
game high tying two 3-pointers (James Palmer and Keith Shivers of Henry Wise
also with two 3-pointers). Harris also
grabbed 6 rebounds, picked up 2 steals, and dropped off a game high 6 assists.
4) Henry Wise (MD) – Junior James Palmer 6’5” {ER-14}
Palmer shot 50% from below the arc and shot 50% from above
the arc to score a team high 13 points.
Palmer also grabbed 5 rebounds for the team from Maryland.
5) Henry Wise (MD) – Junior Wayne Langston 6’4” {ER-9}
Langston was one field goal away from attaining a double
double. Wayne scored 8 points and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. Langston had an Efficient game as he only
committed 1 turnover for the entire game.
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
