2013 - 2014 All Efficiency Preview

The 2013 – 2014 All Efficiency saw a dip in performance.  This may be the lowest rated season.  Normally an Efficiency rating of below 30 would not land you on the first team but this year there was several players with ratings below 30.  Only 2 performers were able get a higher Efficiency rating of 30 with one performer hitting the elite 40+ club.

At the same time there was an exceptional performance by Clarence Hoover that was worth even more than the Efficiency rating #’s given. His 15 points 5 steal performance in the final 8 minutes of regulation against a team that should be (in the Cardinal Fanatic opinion) Nationally ranked in the 2014-2015 season, gives Hoover performance even more weight than the numbers indicate.

We also saw a couple of first team repeaters and we witness the highest rated sophomore in Tyus Battle of Gill St. Bernard and the highest rated freshman in Marcus McLeary of the Patrick School.

2013-2014 Plainfield team had 2 under classmen make the 1st team, which was last done in 2011 when Justin Sears and Jahmal Lane were juniors.  If these two young studs play with more consistency next year, Plainfield will be looking for their 5th sectional crown in 7 years.

TEAM TO WATCH FOR THE 2014-2015 SEASON!!
Roselle Catholic put 8 different players on the various All-Efficiency list.  What is even more impressive all 8 players will be returning.  Just to add reason why Roselle Catholic should be ranked nationally next year, they will be adding one of the best 8th grade players in the country in Asbury Park’s 6’9” phenom, Nazreon Reid.  With a front line of 6’10”, 6’9” and 6’9” with multiple players off the bench over 6’7”, Roselle Catholic should be the clear favorite to win the TOC in 2015.  Roselle Catholic also will have Pre-Season Player of the Year, Isaiah Briscoe, to solidify the most talented overall team the Cardinal Fanatic has seen since the St. Patrick team of Dalembert (New York Knicks) and Harrington (Washington Wizards) that finish the year #1 in the nation.  By the way, Roselle Catholic’s shortest players on the team, Asante Gist and Kameron David are arguable 2 of the best returning pure shooters in the state. The Cardinal Fanatic will be sitting front row for next years match-up between Roselle Catholic and Kevin Boyles #1 team in the nation, Montverde Academy of Florida.

With that all said lets look at the top Efficiency Performance of the 2013 – 2014 season.  Next up Honorable Mention.
