A Fanatic Summation of the Roselle Catholic vs. Plainfield Game

 

The Cardinal Fanatic will put on his analytical beak and look at every statistical category!

In this contest Roselle Catholic was dominant.  They may be the best team in the State!!!

3-point Shooting – Roselle Catholic +9
Roselle Catholic connected on 9 three pointers compared to Plainfield’s 6.

Points in the Paint – Roselle Catholic +14
Roselle Catholic connected on 17 field goals below the arc/in the paint compared to 10 by Plainfield.  Denzel Christian led the Cardinals with 4 field goals in the paint.

Block Shots – Roselle Catholic +1
Roselle Catholic rejected 5 shot attempts while Plainfield rejected 4 shot attempts.

Assists – Roselle Catholic +1
Roselle Catholic dished out 8 assists compared to Plainfield’s 7.  Jordan Sears led the Cardinals with 3 assists. 

Rebounds – Roselle Catholic +12
Roselle Catholic grabbed 33 rebounds while Plainfield grabbed 21 rebounds.  Christian Cook led Plainfield with 6 rebounds. 

Steals – Roselle Catholic +4
Roselle Catholic picked up 11 steals compared to the Cardinals 7.  Christian Cook led Plainfield with 4 steals.

Turnovers – Roselle Catholic +10
Roselle Catholic took better care of the ball by committing 13 turnovers compared to the Cardinals 23.

Free Throw Shooting – Roselle Catholic +8
Roselle Catholic scored 11 points from the free bee-line while Plainfield scored 3. 

 
The Cardinal Fanatic Efficiency Players of the game

1)      Roselle Catholic – Sophomore Malachi Richardson 6’7” – {ER-26}
Malachi was 100% from beyond the arc and 100% from the free throw line to score a game high 22 points.  The top 100 player in the nation for his class also grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out a game high 4 assists and rejected 1 shot.

2)      Roselle Catholic – Senior Tyler Roberson 6’10” – {ER-25}
Tyler complemented Richardson by shooting 75% from below the arc to create a powerful 1-2 combination.  Tyler who will be heading to Syracuse University and is considered the 27th best high school player in the nation scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, picked up 2 steals, dropped off an assist and rejected 1 shot to have an entry in every statistical category.

3)      Roselle Catholic – Freshman Matt Bullock 6’4” – {ER-23}
Matt is the 3rd player on Roselle Catholic that is rated in the top 100 of his class nation wide.  Bullock shot 100% from beyond the arc, grabbed a game high 9 rebounds, picked a game high 4 steals, rejected a game high 2 shot attempts and dropped off an assist.  Matt will be terrorizing the hardwood for 3 more years as Matt is only a freshman.

4)      Plainfield – Senior Wade Brown 6’0” – {ER-13}
Wade scored a team high 11 points on 100% shooting below the arc and 43% shooting from beyond the arc.  Wade also grabbed 4 rebounds, picked up a steal and dished out 2 assists.  Wade only committed 1 turnover for the entire game.

5)      Roselle Catholic – Freshman Asanti Gist 5’11” – {ER-13}
Roselle Catholic may have the most talented freshman back court in the nation with Asanti and Matt.  Asanti ran the point as a season veteran.  Gist shot 75% from beyond the arc to help him score 11 points.  Gist also grabbed 3 rebounds, picked up 2 steals and dished out an assist.  Asanti was very efficient with the ball from the point guard position.  Gist committed only 1 turnover for the entire game. 

 
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
