Fanatic Summation of the Lakewood vs. Plainfield game

Plainfield played a very good game. On a scale of 10, the Cards played a 9.4.
Lakewood feature one of the top players in the state. Jarrod Davis is being recruited by multiple Big East schools. Not to be out done, Georgetown, Villanova, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Maryland and a list of major D1 schools are after Tyrone Johnson. Johnson gave a great effort leading the cards to a 17 point victory. Justin Sears, Sekou Harris, and Jamal Lane (all sophomores) gave great efforts doing all the workmen work for the Cardinal victory.

The most impressive period for the Lubreski defensive minded Cardinals was the 3rd. After Jarrod Davis nearly outscored the entire Cardinals in the 2nd period, Lubreski put Tyrone Johnson on the talented sky walker Davis. Johnson responded by holding Davis to only 3 shot attempts and 2 points for the decisive 3rd period. Plainfield outscored Lakewood 11 – 4 during that stretch. They held the Piners to two field goals made.

The most disappointing period for the Cards was the 2nd. Jarrod Davis was impressive. His leaping ability, his accurate shooting from behind the arc, and his intimidating defense, blocking a couple of dunk attempts by the Cards was simply impressive. The Cards was outscored 12 – 10. Davis scored 10 point for the quarter.

The Plainfield Fanatic Efficient 5 for the game
1) Plainfield – Junior Tyrone Johnson – 6’3” {ER – 22}*
Johnson was the high scorer for the Cardinals with 19 points shooting 60% from below the arc, 67% from the 3, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists and 2 block shots.

2) Lakewood – Junior Jarrod Davis – 6’7” {ER – 16}
6’7” junior Davis plays with exceptional athleticism. He has range from the 3 and can shoot over his competition in the paint. He challenges any shot in the paint with his quick jumping ability. Davis scored a game high 24 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and 2 block shots. Davis is currently being recruited by the majority of the schools in the Big East Conference.

3) Plainfield – Sophomore Justin Sears – 6’7” {ER – 16}
Although Justin did not have his best shooting game, he focused on controlling the glass. He played a Dennis Rodman like game by grabbing nearly every missed attempt on the floor. Justin grabbed a team season high 15 rebounds. Justin also added 3 block shots.

4) Plainfield – Sophomore Sekou Harris – 5’8”” {ER – 13}
Sekou gives the Plainfield Fanatics Andre Dabney flash backs. His speed and ball handling skills is exciting. Harris had a game high in assist for the second game in a row. Harris was also efficient with his shooting by knocking down 67% of his shots. Harris has stepped in to take off some of the pressure off of Johnson at the point position.

5) Plainfield – Sophomore Jamal Lane 6’3” {ER – 11}
In only 2 years of high school, Jamal has been a contributor to the varsity program the last 2 years. Lane finished the game as the 2nd highest scorer. Lane shot an efficient 71% from the floor. Last year Lane was the 3rd leading rejecter having 7 consecutive games with at least 1 block shot. Lane has not missed a beat. He has started the season at least 1 block in each game.

The efficient rating was based on shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and turnovers.
