A Fanatic Summation of the Elizabeth vs. Plainfield Game

Plainfield won the field goals made comparison by +4. Plainfield converted 16 field goals to Elizabeth’s 12. Elizabeth was +1 in the 3-point conversion comparison.  Elizabeth converted 5 treys to Plainfield’s 4.  Isaiah Davis 3 3-point conversions helped Elizabeth get the advantage in this statistical category. The Cardinals were +7 in the free throw comparison.  Justin Sears and Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan combined to go 8-9 to give the Cardinals the advantage from the free throw line.    Thus the scoring difference as Plainfield pulled out a 12-point win over Elizabeth.

Where did the Cardinals win this game?  The Cardinals won this game on the boards, interior defense and from the free throw line.  The Cardinals doubled up Elizabeth on the boards 36 – 18.  I did not get invited to the Block Party!  I like Taco’s!!! The Cardinals defense turned away 16 potential points with a season high 8 blocked shots. While on the free throw line, the Cardinals shot a statistical high of 94% from the free throw line.  The Cardinals shot a near perfect 15 for 16 from the charity stripe.

Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-28}
Dr. Double-Double gave his 3rd consecutive efficiency high performance.  Sears continues his torrid shooting from the floor by shooting a Planet Mercury 86% from the floor.  Sears continued his accuracy by shooting 100% from the free throw line to give him a team high tying 16 points (Sekou Harris also with 16 points). The future financier from Yale is already practicing his business skills by cornering the market in the paint industry.  Sears controlled the paint with his game high 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 rejection to finish off an efficient night.

2) Elizabeth – Senior Isaiah Davis 6’5” {ER-26}
Davis pulled the Minutemen within reach of the upset with his perimeter shooting.  Isaiah shot 80% below the arc, shot a sizzling 60% from behind the arc, and was perfect from the foul line to total a game high 19 points. Davis completed a phenomenal night for his statistical profile by grabbing 4 boards, 3 steals, and 1 rejection.  Davis was also efficient with the ball by completing the night with only 2 turnovers.

3) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-21}
Jahmal is putting in his own vote for the Cardinal Fanatic most improved player.  Lane continues to be efficient by showing his skills on both sides of the ball.  Lane shot 50% from the floor and was perfect from the foul line to score 11 points.  Lane added to his other statistical categories with impressive numbers.  Jahmal had a game high tying 4 steals (Elizabeth’s Kason Campbell also with 4 steals) and a game high 3 assists.  The original Block Party Crew Member also had a game high 4 rejections.  Lane completed his stat line by cleaning the glass with 7 rebounds.

4) Plainfield – Senior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-15}
Sekou “Nothing but Net” Harris was impressive with his outside touch.  Harris shot a blistering 67% from long range.  Harris was also perfect from the foul line to give him a team high tying 16 points.

5) Plainfield – Senior Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan 6’6” {ER-12}
The senior displayed his leadership with his play on the floor.  With Sears in foul trouble, Allen-Jordan took over the paint to help hold off the charging Minutemen.  Allen-Jordan grabbed 4 rebounds, shot 50% from the floor, 80% from the free throw line, dropped 2 assists, and crashed the Block Party with 3 rejections.  Allen-Jordan completed his efficient night by committing only 1 turnover for the entire game.

The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
