Paul Robeson will pay their first
visit to Cardinal Country on 12/28 at 8:30 pm. Robeson is looking to pull off its second consecutive upset
over a NJ school in as many attempts.
Robeson comes in playing well although they have lost their last 2 games
in competitive contests. Before their 2
consecutive losses, Robeson won 3 consecutive games to get above the .500
mark. Newark Eastside was the last
victorious victim for the school out of Brooklyn. Enolio Silfa connected on a
last second 3 to upend Newark Eastside, who is one of the top contenders in
Group 3 Section 2.
With the pressure all on the
Cardinals after being named the #2 team in state (Star Ledger), all teams are
sure to bring there “A” game. Robeson
features New York City talent that will challenge Plainfield. 6’6” Enoilio Silfa and 6’5”Mohammed Dansoko
will provide the challenge to Sears and Allen-Jordan in the paint. Silfa and Dansoko are averaging over 20 boards
combined per game over Robeson last several contests.
Denzel Wilson is the speedy guard
that will penetrate and get to the rim.
Wilson lives at the foul line where most of his points are scored. Ahmid Williams will match Wilson’s
quickness, which should provide an interesting match up. Wilson could be the key if his penetrating moves gets the Plainfield big men in foul trouble.
Kadeem Stanisalas is Robeson’s main threat
from deep. Sekou Harris will have to
force Stanisalas effort on the defensive end to slow down Kadeem’s offensive
output.
The X-factor will be Jahmal Lane
in this contest. The Cardinals will go
the way Lane plays in this contest.
