The Cardinal Fanatic Efficiency Players of the game
1)
Plainfield - Sophomore Ahmad Baker 6’8” – {ER-24}
Ahmad filled up the stat
sheet. Ahmad shot 57% from the floor,
grabbed a game high 13 rebounds, picked up 1 steal, dropped off 2 assists and
rejected a game high tying 4 shot attempts (Plainfield Jachai Simmons also with
4 rejections).
2)
Plainfield – Senior Denzel Christian 6’6” – {ER-23}
The four-year varsity player
scored a game high 20 points. DC
completed the double double performance by grabbing 10 rebounds. To complete his efficient night, Denzel
dropped off 2 assists, rejected 2 shot attempts and committed only 1 turnover
for the entire game.
3)
Columbia – Sophomore Mike Runcie 6’2” – {ER-17}
Mike fouling out proved to be the
difference for Columbia in overtime.
Mike shot 50% from beyond the arc and was perfect from the foul line to
score a team high 15 points. Mike also
grabbed 3 rebounds, picked up a game high 5 steals and dropped off a team high
3 assists.
4)
Plainfield – Junior Christian Cook 6’1” – {ER-16}
Christian is no Cook because he always burn it up
from deep. Cook was a perfect 3 of 3
from deep to score 14 points. Christian
also grabbed 6 rebounds and picked up a steal.
5)
Columbia – Junior Deion Robert 6’2” – {ER-15}
Deion was perfect from 3-point
range and was perfect from the foul line.
Deion gave a balance effort by grabbing 4 rebounds, picking up 4 steals
and dropping off an assist.
Other note worthy performances
Plainfield – Sophomore Jachai
Simmons 6’6” – {ER-14}
Simmons may not be aware of his
ability. The last high school ball
player the Cardinal Fanatic saw play every position on the floor, Kyle Anderson
(currently at UCLA), was last years Star Ledger Player of the Year. Not putting the young Simmons in that
category but it is up to him to live up to the potential. Well Simmons gave the Cardinal Fanatic a
slight look at his versatility. Simmons
played all 5 positions, grabbed 7 rebounds, dropped off 2 assists, and rejected
a game high tying 4 shot attempts.
Columbia – Senior Robert Martin
6’4” – {ER-13}
Martin shot 50% from beyond the
arc and 80% from the free throw line.
Martin grabbed a team high 8 rebounds and picked up 2 steals. Martin only committed 1 turnover for the
entire game.
Columbia – Enoch Motachwa 6’3” –
{ER-10}
Enoch used his girth to frustrate
the Cardinals big men. Enoch grabbed 7
rebounds and did not commit a turnover for the entire game.
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
