St. Peters Prep vs Plainfield


A Fanatic Summation of the St. Peters Prep vs. Plainfield Game


The only way to describe Plainfield’s dismal shooting was to compare it to the city they played in, “BRICK CITY”.  Plainfield could not get in any rhythm as St. Peters Prep pulled away for the easy victory at the Prudential Center.

Block Shots – Advantage (Plainfield)
Plainfield rejected 2 shot attempts while St. Peters rejected 1.  Plainfield’s Denzel Christian and Jachai Simmons each rejected a shot attempt.

Free Throw Shooting – Advantage (Plainfield)
Plainfield converted 6 free throw attempts while St. Peters converted 4.

 
Plainfield never could get any type of rhythm or momentum as St. Peters Prep dominated in nearly every statistical category.  The following statistical areas were where St. Peters blew the game open.

Turnovers – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters committed 12 turnovers compared to Plainfield’s 19.  This gave St. Peters a 7-possession advantage or a potential 14 points difference in the game.

Steals – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters picked up 13 steals while Plainfield picked up 6. 

3-Point Shooting – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters converted 5 3-point attempts while Plainfield converted 2.  This gave St. Peters a 9-point advantage.

Points in the Paint – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters converted 15 field goals below the arc compared to 7 by Plainfield.  This gave St. Peters a 16-point advantage in this category.

Rebounds – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters grabbed 31 rebounds while Plainfield grabbed 21. 

Assists – Advantage (St. Peters Prep)
St. Peters dished out 15 assists compared to Plainfield’s 4. 


The Cardinal Fanatic Efficiency Players of the game


1)      St. Peters Prep - Senior Matt Halchak 5’9” – {ER-14}
Matt earned Mr. Efficiency for the game.  Matt was perfect from beyond the arc, grabbed 4 rebounds from his guard position, picked up 2 steals and completed the night with a 2:0 assist to turnover ratio.

2)      St. Peters Prep – Senior Sean Cummings 6’5” – {ER-12}
Sean dropped 9 points, grabbed a game high 8 rebounds, picked up a steal and dropped off an assist.  Sean completed a very efficient night by not committing a turnover for the entire game.

3)      St. Peters Prep – Senior Tevis Wyche 6’1” – {ER-11}
Wyche scored 11 points to be one of only 2 players to score in double digits for the game.  Tevis also had a game high 6 steals, a game high 6 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds.

4)      St. Peters Prep – Junior Austin White 6’2” – {ER-9}
Austin shot 50% from below the arc to score a game high 15 points.  Austin grabbed 1 rebound, picked up 3 steals and dropped off 3 assists.

5)      St. Peters Prep – Sophomore Vic Jusino 6’9” – {ER-9}
Vic shot 50% from the field, grabbed 3 rebounds and picked up a steal.  Vic did not commit a turnover for the entire game.

 

 
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
