A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs Thomas Jefferson (NY) Game

The field goals made comparison was even. Plainfield and Jefferson converted 19 field goals each. Plainfield had the edge in the free throw conversion comparison. Plainfield converted 19 free throws compared to Jeffrson's 9. Plainfield lost the 3-point conversion comparison by 4 shots. Plainfield converted 4 3-pointers to Jefferson's 8.

Where did the Cardinals loose this game? Although the Cardinals shot a respectable 70% from the free throw line, there were still 8 missed foul shots. The next factor was the peremiter defense of the Cards. Jefferson shot 47% from the 3-point mark. The last factor was Jefferson's balance attack. 4 players from the Brooklyn school had double digit scoring with one player missing double digits by 1 field goal. Jefferson also had 2 other players that were short of the double digit plateau by 2 field goals. The Cardinals had to man up on defense not knowing who would be the go to at the end of the game. Give Jefferson credit as they were able to spread the floor and create a good shot for the game winner.

Dii'Jon scored a game high 24 points on 69% shooting from the floor. Dii'Jon grabbed 7 rebounds and had a game high 4 rejections. His 2 handed block of a shot attempt by the 6'10" Edson Avila was pinned at the top of the box which had the crowd amazed!

2) Plainfield - Junior Sekou Harris 6'0" {ER-19}
Sekou shot an impressive 10-10 from the free throw line for the game. When the pressure was on in the final period, Sekou "ICE Berg" Harris shot 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Sekou finished with 20 points, a game high tying 3 steals (Thomas Jefferson Eric Turpin also with 3 steals), and a game high tying 5 assists (Thomas Jefferson Davontay Grace also with 5 assists).

3) Thomas Jefferson (NY) - Junior Davontay Grace 6'3" {ER-18}
Davontay scored a team high tying 14 points (Thaddeus Hall also scored 14 points) on 100% shooting below the arc and 60% shooting from beyond the arc. Grace also grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out a game high tying 5 assists. Davontay 2- point pull up jumper at the buzzer was the game winning shot!

4) Thomas Jefferson (NY) - Senior Eric Turpin 6'4" {ER-14}
Eric shot 63% from the floor to score 12 points. Eric also grabbed a team high 7 rebounds, picked up 3 steals and dropped 2 assists.

5) Plainfield - Junior Jahmal Lane 6'3" {ER-12}
Jahmal scored 10 points on 67% shooting from 2-point range and 50% shooting from 3-point range. Jahmal also grabbed 4 rebounds, dropped 2 assists, and rejected 2 shots.


The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist - turnover ratio.
