A Fanatic Summation of the 1st round of the State Sectional Playoffs - Plainfield vs Chatham Game

Plainfield scored 25 field goals below the arc compared to Chatham’s 9 field goals. This gave Plainfield a 32 point advantage in 2 point field goals made. Plainfield scored 4 3-pointers compared to Chatham’s 6. This gave Chatham a 6 point advantage in shooting behind the arc. Both teams connected on 5 free throws.

Where did the Cardinals win this game? Although the Cardinals were able to out rebound their opponent, it was not their usual dominant performance. The Block Party Crew seemed to take an in-house personal day as the Cardinals only came up with 2 rejections which were far below their double digit average over the last several games. Chatham’s 6’4” sophomore Joe Timmes did an excellent job getting position under the boards to hold off any dominant performance by the Cards. The Cardinals on the ball defensive effort did pick up the slack. The Cardinals combined to force 16 turnovers with their in your face man to man defense.
