A Fanatic Summation of the Union vs Plainfield Game

Plainfield scored 19 field goals below the arc compared to Union’s 15 field goals. This gave the Cardinals an 8 point advantage in 2 point field goals made. Union scored 5 3-pointers compared to the Cardinals 3. This gave Union a 6-point advantage in shooting behind the arc. With only a 2 point advantage for the Cardinals from points scored on the floor, the Cardinals were able win the free throw comparison. The Cardinals made 8 free throws compared to Union’s 5 which gave the Cardinals a 3 point advantage from the charity line.

Where did the Cardinals win this game? Seems like I’m singing the same old song, but the GLASS! When the Cardinals out rebound their opponent their victory percentage increases astronomically. The Cardinals grabbed 31 rebounds compared to Union’s 17. I got another song, “WHERE’S THE BLOCK PARTY AT”! The Cardinals combined for 9 rejections (led by Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan’s 4 rejections) which is actually sub par for the Plainfield crew over the last 4 games. The youthful Cards have averaged 10 rejections per game over the last 4 which included Thomas Jefferson (NY) and Linden.

Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Plainfield – Junior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-31}
After a hiatus from his normal double-double performance, Justin expressed through his game, I’m Back!! Justin dropped another double-double performance by scoring a game high 20 points on 67% shooting from the floor while dominating the boards with a game high 14 rebounds. Justin was issued a citation for his participation in the police interrupted block party by adding 2 rejections to his stat line.

2) Plainfield – Junior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-20}
Sekou scored 15 points on 67% shooting below the arc, 50% shooting from beyond the arc, and perfect shooting from the foul line. We are going to have to investigate Harris’s new found vertical as he added 6 rebounds to his stat line and showed his point guard skills by dropping a game high 5 assists.

3) Union – Senior Chris Foreman 6’1” {ER-18}
Chris scored a team high 15 points by hitting 3 shots beyond the arc and hitting perfection by not missing any shots below the arc. Chris also had 3 picks and did not commit a turnover for the entire game.

4) Union – Junior Marcus Carter 6’4” {ER-15}
Carter scored 11 points on 50% shooting from below the arc, connected on his only 3-point attempt of the game, and was perfect (4-4) from the foul line. Marcus also grabbed 4 rebounds.

5) Plainfield – Sophomore Denzel Christian 6’6” {ER-14}
Denzel shot 50% from the floor on only 4 shot attempts. But his other stat lines were impressive. Denzel grabbed 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists, and participated in the Block Party with 1 rejection.

The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
