Plainfield defensive effort, board work and points in the paint proved to be the difference for the Cardinals 3rd consecutive victory.

Assists – Plainfield shared the ball very well dropping 13 assists.

Steals – Plainfield gained 5 more possession than East Orange Campus by picking up 9 steals.

Rebounds – Plainfield gained a 15-rebound advantage over East Orange Campus by grabbing 31 rebounds.

Points in the Paint – Plainfield was able to score 32 points in the paint compared to East Orange Campus’s 16 points.

1)      Plainfield - Senior Steve Jones Jr. 6’0” – {ER-22}
Junior Jones shot a lukewarm 67% from below the arc and a Mercury hot 100% from deep to score 14 points.  JJ grabbed 5 rebounds, picked up 1 steal and dropped off 1 assist.  Jones finished an Efficient night by committing only 1 turnover.

2)      Plainfield – Junior Ahmad Baker 6’8” – {ER-22}
“The Rejectonator” is now available at your local fast food drive up window.  Baker rejected a game high 4 shot attempts.  Baker missed a double-double performance by one field goal and 1 rebound.  Baker grabbed a game high 9 rebounds and dropped off 1 assist.  Baker finished an Efficient night by committing only 1 turnover. “Today was more of a rebounding game for me. I am working on getting my reps in.  My stroke is feeling better”, Ahmad Baker commented

3)      Plainfield – Senior Jordan Sears 6’6” – {ER-21}
Sears earned MVP honors by shooting 60% below the arc, 40% from beyond the arc and 75% from the free throw line to score a game high 21-points.  Sears also grabbed 3 rebounds, picked a game high tying 2 steals (Plainfield’s Mike Kirkland, East Orange Campus’s Marquise Kendal and Aaron Broxton also with 2 steals), dropped a game high 4 assists and rejected 1 shot attempt to fill up the stat sheet. “Trying to find my open stroke. It was all my teammates.  Jachai got me the ball, Ahmad got me the ball”, Jordan Sears expressed after the game.

4)      Plainfield – Junior Jachai Simmons 6’7” – {ER-15}
Simmons shot 40% from below the arc and 80% from the free-throw line.  Jachai missed a double double by 1 field goal and 2 rebounds.  Jachai grabbed 8 rebounds, picked up 1 steal and dropped off 2 assists.

5)      East Orange – Sophomore Marquise Kendal 6’3” – {ER-11}
MK shot 67% from below the arc to score a team high 18-points.  Kendal also grabbed 1 rebound and picked up a game high tying 2 steals.

6)      Plainfield – Senior Clarence Hoover 6’1” – {ER-10}
Hoover shot 50% from below the arc, grabbed 1 rebound, picked up 1 steal, and dropped off 1 assist.  Hoover completed a very Efficient night by not committing 1 turnover from his point guard position.

7)      East Orange – Junior Samuel Pierie 6’4” – {ER-10}
Pierie shot 50% from three-point range and 75% from the free throw line.  Samuel also grabbed a rebound.  Pierie had a very Efficient night by not committing a turnover for the entire game.

8)      Plainfield – Senior Mike Kirkland 6’0” – {ER-10}
Mike “The Bod” Kirkland hustle play proved to be pivotal in providing separation in this game.  Kirkland connected on his only shot from the field, grabbed 3 rebounds, picked up a game high tying 2 steals and dropped 2 assists.




The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
