A Fanatic Summation of the Kennedy (NY) vs. Plainfield Game

Plainfield swarming defense overcame a poor shooting performance to hold off JFK High School of the Bronx, NY.

Where did Plainfield win this game:

Turnovers – Kennedy (NY) committed 18 turnovers of which 17 was forced.

Steals – Plainfield defensive effort picked up 17 steals.  Plainfield was able to gain 8 more possessions than Kennedy (NY). Jordan Sears and Mike Kirkland combined for 8 steals to help lead Plainfield defensive effort.

1)      Plainfield - Junior Jachai Simmons 6’7” – {ER-21}
The Dunk Master was at it again as he took a personal vendetta against the rim.  Jachai shot 56% in the paint of which most conversions were of high percentage.  Mr. Dunkateer grabbed a team high 7 rebounds, picked up a game high 7 steals and dropped a game high tying 3 assists (Plainfield’s Jordan Sears also with 3 assists).

2)      Kennedy (NY) – Junior Anthony Cruz 6’4” – {ER-14}
Cruz was not cruising as his hustling play kept Kennedy in the game.  Anthony shot 40% from below the arc and even shot better from beyond the arc at a 50% clip.  Cruz grabbed a game high 9 rebounds and did not commit a single turnover for the entire game.

3)      Plainfield – Senior Clarence Hoover 6’2” – {ER-11}
Hoover shot 57% from below the arc, grabbed 3 rebounds, picked up a steal, dropped off an assist and rejected 1 shot attempt to fill the stat sheet.

4)      Plainfield – Senior Steven Jones Jr. 6’6” – {ER-11}
Mr. Jones shot 75% from below the arc, grabbed 4 rebounds, picked up a steal, and dropped 2 assists.  Jones Jr. only committed 1 turnover for the entire game.

5)      Kennedy (NY) – Senior Talli Kebbah 6’3” – {ER-11}
Talli was perfect from deep and perfect from the charity line.  Talli also grabbed a rebound, picked up a team high tying 2 steals (Isaac Archin also with 2 steals) and dropped 1 assist.

6)      Kennedy (NY) – Senior Darius Webster 5’10” – {ER-10}
Webster shot 40% below the arc against the long arms of Plainfield defenders.  Webster was perfect from deep, grabbed 2 rebounds, dropped 1 assist and rejected 1 shot attempt.  Darius did not commit a turnover for the entire game.




The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
