A Fanatic Summation of the Linden vs. Plainfield Game

Linden defensive effort proved to be too much for the Cardinals to handle.  Linden picked up 15 steals and held Plainfield to 34% shooting from the field.

Where did Plainfield lose this game:

Turnovers:  Plainfield turned the ball over 18 times.  If you want to turn something bad into something positive, the majority of the turnovers were forced.  3 turnovers were unforced which means that it was more the effort exalted by Linden more than the carelessness of the Cardinals handling of the ball.  Credit goes out to Linden.

Assists – After sharing the ball well in their 3 consecutive victories, Plainfield could only muster 4 assists.  As Clyde Frazier would say, the ball moves faster than the defender.

Perimeter Defense – Linden shot 40% from beyond the arc.  Linden accounted for 24 points from 3-point land.  Minus those 3-point makes, the Cardinals would be within 3-points.

1)      Linden - Senior Quadri Moore 6’9” – {ER-25}
Quad shot 63% overall from the field which included 60% in the paint and 67% when Quad stepped back behind the arc.  Quadri shot 83% from the free throw line to score a game high tying 17-points (Linden’s Juwan Jones also with 17-points).  Moore also grabbed a game high tying 6 rebounds (Plainfield’s Jordan Sears also with 6 rebounds), 3 steals, 1 assist and a game high 2 rejections.  Quadri completed an Efficient night by committing only 1 turnover for the entire game.

2)      Linden – Junior Juwan Jones 6’2” – {ER-14}
JJ shot 50% overall from the field which included 60% in the paint and 43% from behind the arc to score a game high tying 17-points.  Jones picked up 1 rebound, 2 steals and dropped off 1 assist.

3)      Linden – Junior Otis Livingston 5’11” – {ER-12}
The one time Plainfield resident who played is early years of ball through the Plainfield Recreation Program played a solid point.  Otis shot 75% from below the arc and was perfect from the foul line to score 8 points.  Otis also grabbed 4 rebounds and dropped off 1 assist.  Otis from his point guard position completed a very Efficient night by not committing a turnover for the entire game.

4)      Plainfield – Junior Jachai Simmons 6’7” – {ER-11}
Simmons shot 67% overall from the field which included 50% in the paint and perfect from beyond the arc.  Simmons was also perfect from the free throw line to score 9 points for the game.  Simmons grabbed 4 rebounds and dropped off an assist

5)      Linden – Junior Juwan Dolbrice 6’0” – {ER-10}
Dolbrice did not score a point but his other statistical efforts were key for the Tigers victory.  JD grabbed 2 rebounds, picked up a game high 6 steals and dropped off a game high 3 assists.  Dolbrice finished with an impressive 3:1 assist to turnover ratio.



The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
