A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs. Union Game

Plainfield interior defensive proved to be pivotal.  The altering and defending of shot attempts in the paint was the difference in this game

Where did Plainfield win this game:

Perimeter Defense – Union shot 13% from beyond the arc.  Union would shoot 2 of 15 from three point range.

Interior Defense – Union shot 30% in the paint.  Plainfield had 6 different players with at least 1 rejection.  Plainfield finished the game with 10 rejections and 14 steals as a team.  Jachai Simmons 4 steals led the way.


The Cardinal Fanatic Efficiency Players of the game


1)      Plainfield - Senior Clarence Hoover 6’1” – {ER-27}
Hoover shot 63% from below the arc, 50% from 3-point range and 100% from the free-throw line to score a game high 22 points.  Hoover stuffed the stat sheet with 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist and 2 rejections.

2)      Union – Junior Jordan Roberson 6’6” – {ER-21}
Jordan (I’m not Tyler) Roberson played like his elder Syracuse University statesman.  Roberson scored 12-points on 83% shooting from below the arc and 100% shooting from the free throw line.  JR grabbed 8 rebounds and picked up 2 steals.

3)      Plainfield – Junior Ahmad Baker 6’8” – {ER-18}
      The “Rejectonator” added extra pickles to his game tonight.  Baker shot 50% from the floor, grabbed a         team high 9 rebounds, picked up 2 steals, dropped off an assist and the “Rejectonator” blocked a game       high 3 shot attempts.

4)      Union – Senior Tevin Service 6’4” – {ER-14}
Tevin scored a team high 13-points on 50% shooting below the arc and 80% shooting from the charity line.  Service grabbed 6 rebounds, picked up 1 steal and dropped off one assist.

5)      Plainfield – Senior Jordan Sears 6’6” – {ER-12}
"Mr. An 1" knocked down 83% of his free throws to score 12-points.  Sears also grabbed 2 rebounds, picked up 2 steals, dropped off 1 assist and accepted his invitation to the block party by rejecting 2 shot attempts. 

Other note worthy performances
Union – Senior TJ McNair 6’3” - {ER-10}
McNair used his girth to grab a game high 10 rebounds, picked up 1 steal, dropped a game high 2 assists and rejected one shot attempt.




The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
