A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs Cranford Game

Plainfield won the field goals made comparison by +11. Plainfield converted 20 field goals to Cranford’s 9. The Cardinals were a -3 in the 3-point conversion comparison. Cranford’s Sean Trotter and Joseph Papendera combined for 4 treys to help keep the Cougars in the game. Cranford converted 6 3-pointers while Plainfield converted 3.

Where did the Cardinals win this game? Bench support and rebounds! Multiple reserves played a part in sparking the Cardinals to the victory. Phillip Tharpe came up big when the Cardinals were in a shooting slump by connecting on 2 treys that ignited the Card’s for the rest of the game. Denzel Christian was force in the middle helping the Cards to a 45 rebound night. Chad Lewis also gave help on the boards while the speedy Delano Mullings and the long Vaughn Anderson provided the defensive effort to slow down the hot shooting Cougars.

Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Plainfield – Junior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-39}
Sears earned a career high ER with another one of his patented double-double performance. Sears scored the second highest ever ER by dropping a game high 20 points connecting at a 78% clip. Justin also had a game high 18 rebounds to go along with his game high 3 assists.

2) Plainfield – Sophomore Denzel Christian 6’6” {ER-21}
Denzel earned his 2nd top 5 ER performance of the season. Denzel shot at a 67% clip to earn 9 points for the game. Denzel also grabbed 9 rebounds while committing no turnovers for the entire game.

3) Plainfield – Senior Allen Brown 6’0” {ER-10}
Lock “em Down” Brown defensive effort does not show up in the box score. The Senior provided the defensive leadership to slow down the hot 3-point shooting of the Cougars. Brown also was perfect from the floor connecting for 8 points. Brown committed only 1 turnover from his guard position for the entire game.

4) Cranford – Sophomore Reginald Green 6’4” {ER-9}
Green was the only other scorer (Justin Sears) to score in double figures. The sophomore came off the bench to spark the Cougars to play a competitive game. Green shot 54% from the floor to score a team high15 points. Green also grabbed a team high tying 5 rebounds (Sean Trotter and Bryan Fitzsimmons also with 5 rebounds).

5) Cranford – Senior Sean Trotter 6’0” {ER-8}
Trotter’s 40% shooting from behind the arc kept the game interesting. Trotter scored 9 points and also grabbed a team high tying 5 rebounds.


The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
