A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs Robeson (NY) Game

Robeson won the field goals made comparison by +2. Robeson converted 16 field goals to Plainfield’s 14. Plainfield was +1 in the 3-point conversion comparison.  Sekou Harris connected on 3 treys while Denzel Johnson and Ahmid Williams connected on 1 trey apiece.  Plainfield won the free-throw made comparison as the Cardinals made 17 free throws compared to Robeson’s 7. Thus the scoring difference as Plainfield pulled out a 9-point win over Robeson.

Where did the Cardinals win this game?  There were 2 statistical categories that stood out – free throws attempted/made and rejections. The Cardinals had a decisive advantage at the free throw line by taking the ball to the rack.  Plainfield had 15 more free throw attempts than Robeson.  The Cardinals are starting to finally pick up their defensive intensity.  The Block Party continues as Justin “Get it out a here” Sears and Jahmal “Gimme dat” Lane combined for a mind swatting 9 rejections.  The Cardinals finished the contest with 11 rejections.

Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-30}
Sears has reported that they will be closing over 100 stores.  Justin responded to this news by shutting down the paint department against the school from Brooklyn by rejecting a game high 5 shots.  Justin shot 63% from the floor, 75% from the foul line and grabbed 10 rebounds to get his double double stat back on track. Sears also dished out a game high tying 3 assists (Sekou Harris also with 3 assists).

2) Robeson (NY) – Senior Dwayne Johnson 6’3” {ER-26}
Dwayne Johnson AKA “The Roc”, not the wrestler/actor, but Johnson was the rock of the team that held Robeson steady for the upset.  Dwayne’s near perfect shooting was impressive.  Dwayne shot 80% below the arc, 100% from beyond the arc, and 100% from the free throw line to score a team high 15 points.  With that type of precision the only bad shot Dwayne took, was when he did not shoot the Rock!  At 6’3”, Johnson surprises many with his positioning, quickness and leaping ability as he grabbed a team high 8 rebounds.  Dwayne was very efficient in handling the ball as well as he only committed 1 turnover for the entire game.

3) Plainfield – Senior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-25}
Sekou shot 67% from below the arc, 60% from above the arc, and was perfect from the foul line to score a game high 19 points.  Sekou has stepped up his defense to counter any critics that say he is only offense oriented.  Harris snatched a game high 5 steals and dropped a game high tying 3 assists (Justin Sears also with 3 assists).

4) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-12}
Jahmal Lane blocked 4 shots from his guard position.  Lane shot 75% from the free throw line, grabbed 5 boards, and 3 steals to add to his stat line.

5) Robeson – Senior Tyree Harvey 6’0” {ER-11}
Harvey made the best of his opportunity.  Harvey connected on his only 3-point attempt and shot 83% from the foul line to score 8 points.  Harvey also picked up 2 steals and grabbed 2 rebounds.

The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
