A Fanatic Summation of the Plainfield vs Hudson Catholic Game

Where did the Cardinals win this game?

– Points in the paint. The Cardinals was able to outscore Hudson Catholic by 12 points in the paint. Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan led the way as he led the Cardinals in points down low.

Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5

1) Hudson Catholic – Junior Reggie Cameron 6’7” {ER-21}
The Paterson, NJ native sweet shooting stroke of Reggie “From Beyond” Cameron was on full display at the Jump Off Classic.  Unfortunately for Plainfield, Reggie was on fire.  Reggie has an impressive number of major D1 schools hot on his trail.  Universities from the following conferences are currently trying to sway the 6’7” sharp shooter:  Big East, ACC, SEC, BIG 10, PAC10 and Atlantic 10.  The following have put out offers for the talented shooter:  Cincinnati, Miami, Northwestern, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Villanova, and Xavier.  Enough of this talented swing man, his shooting was superb as he was the one man that brought Hudson Catholic from the verge of getting blown out, to the edge of victory.  Cameron shot 60% below the arc, 56% from beyond the 3-point line, and was perfect from the foul line to score a game high 23 points.

2) Plainfield – Senior Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan 6’6” {ER-20}
Dii’Jon “Dunkadelic” Allen-Jordan base line 2-handed slam ignited a decisive 3rd period run.  Dii’Jon legs are nearly 100%.  Yes the young lad legs are not all there yet!  Mr. Mustard shot 83% from the floor and was perfect from the foul line to score a team high 14 points.  His clutch free throws in the final seconds were critical.  Dii’Jon only committed 1 turnover for the entire game.

3) Hudson Catholic – Junior Michael Young 6’9” {ER-20}
The big body Pittsburgh, Pa native is a highly recruited commodity. Numerous schools from the Big East, ACC, SEC, and BIG 12 are showing interest in the junior stud. The following have offers on the table for the talented big man:  Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Pitt, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and West Virginia.  The talented big man was able to hold his own against the Yale bound Justin Sears of Plainfield.  Michael scored 12 points on 57% shooting from the floor and 100% shooting from the free throw line.  Young also grabbed a team high 7 rebounds and had a game high tying 2 rejections (Plainfield’s Jahmal Lane, Justin Sears and Hudson Catholic’s Kavon Stewart also with 2 rejections).

4) Hudson Catholic – Junior Kavon Stewart 5’11” {ER-20}
Don’t let the 5’11” statue fool you.  Stewart has legs like a turbo pogo stick.  The Paterson, NJ native is considering Atlantic 10, BIG 10, and Big East schools to attend after he graduates in 2013. Stewart and Reggie Cameron 2 man game in the 4th period nearly made a remarkable comeback from a double-digit deficit. Kavon shot 83% on 5 for 6 shooting from the foul line. The highflying Kavon also grabbed 6 rebounds, a game high tying 4 steals (Plainfield’s Sekou Harris also with 4 steals), a team high 3 assists, and the high flier also had a game high tying 2 block shots.  Not bad for a player under 6’0”.

5) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-19}
Jahmal Lane shot 57% from below the arc and hit his only 3-point attempt to score 11 points for the game.  Jahmal “DJ” Lane is starting to be known as DJ because as a freshman he started spinning the wheels for a Block Party that has grown out of control.  Jahmal had a game high tying 2 rejections and dropped 3 assists to help the Cardinals edge out Hudson Catholic.

The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
