Izevbuw 3 3-point conversions helped MSIT get the advantage in this statistical
category. Both teams connected on 8 free throws. Thus the scoring difference as Plainfield pulled out a 16-point
win over MSIT.
Where did the Cardinals win this game? The Cardinals won this game in the paint and
a balance scoring attack. MSIT got back into the game as the Cardinals settled
for perimeter shots. Once they went
back down low the game was back in control.
The Cardinals converted 28 more points in the paint than MSIT. The Cardinals grabbed a season high 41
rebounds to MSIT 28 boards. That
eliminated a potential 13 possessions for MSIT. When MSIT did get to the paint
on the offensive end it was turned away due to a Block Party in progress! The
Cardinals recorded 7 rejections to MSIT 0.
Ahmid Williams officially joined the Block Party Crew with his recorded
rejection. On the offensive end Sekou, Justin, Jahmal and Edward Anderson all
scored in double figures while Dii’Jon Allen-Jordan and Denzel Johnson missed
the double digit-scoring plateau by one field goal.
Cardinal Fanatic Efficient 5
1) Plainfield – Senior Sekou Harris 6’0” {ER-27}
Sekou scored his career high efficiency rating. The senior 3
year varsity player displayed his experience play as he shot 80% from below the
arc and was perfect from the foul line to score a team high 20 points. Sekou also grabbed 5 rebounds, had a team
high 4 steals, and a game high 5 assists to complete an impressive stat line.
2) Plainfield – Senior Justin Sears 6’8” {ER-24}
Sears shot 67% from the floor to score 13 points. Sears grabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 4
assists, and rejected a game high tying 3 shots (Jahmal Lane also with 3
rejections).
3) MSIT – Junior Osa Slayton Izevbuw 6’4” {ER-15}
Osa scored 23 points to lead all scorers. Osa also attained a double double by
grabbing a game high 14 rebounds. The
guard from Staten Island also picked up 2 steals to complete his stat line.
4) MSIT – Senior Fernando Salomons 6’5” {ER-15}
Salomons gave up several inches to the All-State Yale bound
Justin Sears but battled admirably.
Salomons shot 67% from the floor to score 10 points. Fernando also grabbed 6 boards and picked up
2 steals.
5) Plainfield – Senior Jahmal Lane 6’4” {ER-14}
The four-year varsity player is the original member of the
Block Party Crew. Jahmal’s game high tying 3 rejections is even more impressive
considering this is being done from the guard position. Lane’s perfect foul line shooting helped him
score 11 points and be one of 4 Cardinals to score in double figures. To complete an efficient stat line, Lane
grabbed 4 rebounds, 2 steals and dropped 2 assists.
The efficiency rating is base on points scored, shooting accuracy, foul shooting accuracy, rebounds, assists, steals, defensive intensity, and assist – turnover ratio.
